From indulging in ice-cream to chins smeared in chocolate; water slides to go-karting, there’s fun for all the family at tourist attractions in Dumfries and Galloway, whether it’s a rainy day or the sun is splitting the sky. Our highlights are Cream O Galloway near Gatehouse of Fleet, for ice-cream making; chocolate creations and tastings at The Cocoabean Company in Twynholm; farmyard adventure at Dalscone, near Dumfries and outdoor water and land activities at Galloway Activity Centre.
Not far from Barstobrick there’s Ernespie Farm with indoor and outdoor play spaces and a coffee shop; The Wee Pottery - Kirkcudbright and for all believers in Neverland, discover the inspiration for Peter Pan at Moat Brae in Dumfries. Of course, for believers in fairies, or faeries, as we prefer to call them, there’s the Galloway Faerie Trail at Barstobrick. Splash in the swimming pools at Kirkcudbright or Castle Douglas, but no guarantee of mermaids!
